Students reminded to keep campus tidy, post flyers on bulletin boards

University Park, Pa. -- Students can show their Penn State pride by keeping University Park clean.

In an ongoing effort to maintain the appearance of the campus, Penn State officials would like to remind students to please post announcements on general-purpose bulletin boards, and to refrain from placing fliers and similar notices elsewhere on campus.

This request is made in accordance with University policy AD-02, which states, in part, "Except as permitted herein, no poster, handbill or any form of announcement or statement can be placed on, attached to or written on any structure or natural feature of the campus such as doors, buildings, windows, the surface of walkways, roads, fountains, posts, waste receptacles, trees or stakes, or posted on motor vehicles."

Areas covered under this policy also include locations such as streetlamps, interior walls and transit center bus stops. Items posted in any of these areas will be removed by Physical Plant employees.

"This policy is designed to keep the campus looking neat and clean, as well as reduce litter clean-up costs," noted H. Ford Stryker, associate vice president of Physical Plant.

"We can all be proud of the neat appearnace of our campus," he added. "Thank you for doing your part to keep Penn State looking sharp."
