University Park, Pa. — The Penn State women's basketball team announced today that it will have 10 conference games streamed live on BigTenNetwork.com. Additionally, the Lady Lions announced television and times for its non-conference schedule. The games streamed on BigTenNetwork.com are free to view.

The Lady Lions will face Bucknell in non-conference play on the Big Ten Network at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9. The Penn State games streamed live on BigTenNetwork.com include home games against Michigan (Jan. 4; 2 p.m.), Indiana (Jan. 11; 2 p.m.), Wisconsin (Jan. 22; 7 p.m.), Minnesota (Feb. 5; 7 p.m.), Iowa (Feb. 15; 3 p.m.) and Purdue (Feb. 19; 7 p.m.), as well as road contests at Purdue (Jan. 15; 7 p.m.), Indiana (Jan. 29; 7 p.m.), Iowa (Feb. 1; 3 p.m.) and Wisconsin (Feb. 12; 8 p.m.).

Penn State's game at Illinois (Feb. 22) is part of the ESPN2 wildcard pool and the games versus Northwestern (Feb. 26) and at Ohio State (Mar. 1) are in the Big Ten Network wildcard pool. The television and time arrangements for those games will be determined later this season.

Big Ten women's basketball teams will receive more coverage than ever before with a record 119 games set to be distributed by the Big Ten Network, BigTenNetwork.com, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU during the 2008-09 regular season. In addition to the conference television schedule the Big Ten announced in early September, there are 32 non-conference games that will appear on the five platforms and an additional 45 conference match-ups will be streamed live on BigTenNetwork.com. In all, the Big Ten Network currently boasts a slate of 55 regular-season games on its linear channel and an additional 56 on its website.

The Lady Lions return four starters and 10 letterwinners from a year ago, including third team All-Big Ten selection Brianne O'Rourke (Pittsburgh, Pa.). The senior point guard led the Big Ten in assists for the second time in her career and finished 51st nationally with a 4.7 per game mark. She was also 39th in the NCAA in free throw percentage (.838). Junior guard Tyra Grant (Youngstown, Ohio) garnered All-Big Ten honorable mention accolades for the second time in her career after leading the team and finishing ninth in the conference in scoring (13.8).

The Lady Lions being the 2008-09 campaign with an exhibition game against California (Pa.) on Sun., Nov. 9, before opening the 2008-09 regular-season campaign with a three-game homestand against South Carolina (Sun., Nov. 16), Stony Brook (Wed., Nov. 19) and Prairie View A&M (Fri., Nov. 21). Penn State will also participate in the Third Annual Maggie Dixon Classic at Madison Square Garden on Sun., Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. where it will face perennial national contender Connecticut, a game that will be televised on ESPNU.
