Beaver loses two to Fayette

The Penn State Beaver Nittany Lions baseball team traveled Wednesday, Sept. 17, to Penn State Fayette where they lost a conference double header, 3-2 and 13-3.

In game one, Beaver junior Jake Wojcik (Burgettstown) pitched six innings and recorded five strikes while sophomore Ben Sladick (Western Beaver High School) led with two hits, but Fayette won the game, 3-2.

In the second game, junior Joe Scherer (Quaker Valley High School) pitched three innings and struck out three hitters. The Lions lost, 13-3, with only four hits and three runs in the game.

Beaver will continue conference play on Saturday, Sept. 20, when the Lions travel to Penn State Wilkes-Barre. Beaver is 2-2 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
