Godin shares story of surviving the Holocaust

October 10, 2008

Nesse Godin will share her inspirational story in a lecture titled "Surviving the Holocaust" at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. This event is free to the public.

Godin was 13 years old when the Nazis invaded her home in Lithuania. She survived several concentration camps and a death march before liberation in 1945. As someone who has lived through the horrors of the Holocaust, she cannot remain silent, especially while people suffer in Darfur, an atrocity of which she also speaks in her presentations.

Godin has dedicated her adult life to teaching and sharing memories of the Holocaust. She has appeared before the Naval Academy, West Point Military Academy, the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy, and numerous schools, churches and synagogues.

This presentation is part of the Penn State Berks Arts and Lecture Series. For information on this event, contact John Gallagher at (610) 396-6076.
