Short video explains college bookstore's textbook ordering process

University Park, Pa. — The Penn State Bookstore, one of more than 600 campus bookstores operated by Barnes & Noble College Booksellers, has provided a short five-minute video that answers some frequently asked questions about the textbook-ordering process.

Found online at http://www.bncollege.com/facultyvideo1, the video explains the bookstore's inventory preparation process, demonstrates its online ordering Web site, suggests additional online resources for helping faculty determine which texts have been used previously at their campus, and emphasizes the importance of ordering textbooks early to help maximize cost savings for college students as they purchase their semester course materials.

The video recommends a free site called the Faculty Center Network, online at http://www.facultycenter.net/, which, as its homepage notes, offers "comprehensive information about the college textbook universe" to aid faculty in selecting textbook titles most appropriate for their classes. The site also posts an extensive list of college textbook publishers and allows registered users to store notes about titles of interest and request review copies.

The Penn State Bookstore's Web site is http://psu.bncollege.com/. To access its online courseware submission site, click on the "Faculty" link and register at the bottom of that page. Faculty with further questions or comments are encouraged to contact the manager at their campus bookstore.
