Anyone interested in conserving energy and saving money on energy bills is invited to attend a special Energy Forum being held from noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 6 at Penn State Fayette in Swimmer Hall in the Williams Building. Guest presenters from several local organizations will talk about ways to conserve energy and discuss ways individuals can apply for energy assistance programs that can help with heating bills through the cold winter months ahead.
Presenters include:
• Penn State graduate Rebecca Terchanik is an energy educator with the Dollar Energy Program. She has been with the program for nine years, traveling a large area of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania instructing consumers of all ages on various topics related to electric service, including energy savings and conservation.
• K.J. Collamer has been employed with the Allegheny Power CARES program for the past nine years. The CARES program helps eligible payment-troubled customers establish an affordable payment plan to maintain their electric service, and helps them find grants and other assistance from community-based organizations.
• Elizabeth Focer-Repman is the community outreach and education coordinator at Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania/Maryland. She assisted in the development of the company's Customer Assistance, Referral and Evaluation Services program. She works with customers who have special needs and conducts training and education on a variety of subjects.
The Energy Forum is being organized and sponsored by Penn State Fayette’s Mentoring Program.
