Nov. 5 Bowers Lecture to center on design creativity

John Gero, research professor at George Mason University, will present "Recent Developments in Design Computing: Increasing Design Creativity" at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the Palmer Museum of Art's Palmer Lipcon Auditorium.

The event is part of the Raymond A. Bowers Distinguished Lecture Series. Gero will speak about computation in the design process and new approaches to understand and foster the growth of design creativity.

Gero served as co-director of the Key Centre of Design Computing and Cognition at the University of Sydney. He acted as a visiting professor of architecture, cognitive science and mechanical engineering at schools in the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Switzerland. He is the editor and author of 46 books and more than 550 papers and book chapters.
