Mount Nittany Medical Center brings state-of-the-art cancer treatment

Mount Nittany Medical Center’s new Trilogy Stereotactic System combines sophisticated state-of-the-art imaging with ultra-precise, non-invasive cancer treatment technologies.

“This system will enable us to treat patients with the most advanced radiotherapy techniques, using the most clinically efficient processes in the world,” said Jerome Derdel, medical director of radiation oncology. “It provides us with tremendous versatility and precision for customizing treatments according to the specifics of each patient’s case.”

The powerful system, in addition to delivering conventional forms of radiation therapy, also will allow the Medical Center to use stereotactic approaches for treating very small lesions quickly and with unprecedented precision. It can also compensate for any movements a patient might make during treatment, as well as normal respiratory motion. Providing radiation therapy to more than 40 patients every day, the new Trilogy Stereotactic System provides the best in radiation therapy, offering patients and their families more hope in the battle against cancer.
