Three College of Education faculty members were awarded Research Initiation Grants (RIGs) for the 2008 fall semester. RIGs are designed to help college faculty members incubate their developmental research ideas in anticipation of pursuing external funding for the full study.

The grants may be used to support travel to libraries or research sites, to collect and analyze data, to develop instrumentation, to meet with potential sponsors, to seek a release from teaching, to purchase research materials, and/or to fund a research assistant.

All tenured and tenure-track faculty of the College of Education at University Park are eligible to apply for the grants. Applications are being accepted for the 2009 spring semester until January 15, 2009. For more information, please visit http://www.ed.psu.edu/research/rigp.htm
