Robert Whyel Jr. wins Fayette student kinesiology scholarship

Robert Whyel Jr. is the recipient of the fall award of the 2008-2009 Scholarship Award for Kinesiology at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus. The $200 scholarship is awarded twice a year—spring and fall—to a full-time Penn State Fayette student taking a kinesiology activity class.

Whyel says he is appreciative of the award and grateful to Kinesiology Scholarship Committee Chairman and Penn State Fayette Kinesiology Instructor Jes Hutson, as well as his classmates. “It goes to prove that if you work hard you’ll be rewarded in the end,” said Whyel.

To be eligible for the award, candidates must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, have excellent attendance, work hard in the class, and write an essay on the topic “Why Physical Activity is Important,” which is scored by a panel of judges.
