Strzelec to chair SIGGRAPH annual conference

Rebecca Strzelec, associate professor of visual arts at Penn State Altoona, has accepted the post of 2012 Conference Chair for the Special Interest Group on GRAPHics and Interactive Techniques (SIGGRAPH) annual conference. Strzelec was chosen for the position based on her work at Penn State Altoona, her background as an artist in metals and jewelry using CAD/CAM, and her past work with SIGGRAPH conferences as both a contributor and a volunteer leader. 

Now in its 36th year, the SIGGRAPH conference is the premier international event advancing the fields of computer graphics and interactive techniques. SIGGRAPH annually attracts more than 20,000 of the most respected technical and creative people involved in research, science, art, animation, gaming, interactivity, education and the Web.
