Ravindran publishes pair of textbooks

A. Ravi Ravindran, professor of industrial engineering, has just published two operational research textbooks: "Operations Research Applications," and "Operations Research Methodologies."

"Applications" gives the reader an overview of operational research applications, namely functional and industry-specific applications. Each chapter examines a distinct application area, such as finance, supply chain management and e-commerce.

"Methodologies" explores basic operational research methods, including linear, nonlinear and decision analysis, as well as up-and-coming techniques, such as metaheuristics and robust optimizations.

Both books are published by CRC Press.

Ravindran, whose research interests include supply chain modeling and hazardous waste disposal, teaches undergraduate courses in operations research and graduate courses in multi-criteria decision-making and supply chain engineering.
