University-led economic engagement expert to speak Feb. 10

Penn State faculty and staff are invited to learn about methods to address economic opportunities in our communities and across Pennsylvania from an award-winning expert in the field of university-led economic engagement.

Kyle Salyers will speak on the topic of “Economic Engagement: Strategic Planning, Programmatic Outcomes, and Lessons Learned from Indiana,” on Tuesday, Feb. 10, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in The Alumni Lounge at The Nittany Lion Inn. Salyers served as a special adviser for economic development and engagement at Indiana University, where he directed the development of that school’s first comprehensive economic engagement strategy, Advancing Indiana.

Guests will have the opportunity to learn about: strategic planning of economic development initiatives, community listening sessions, programmatic outcomes, lessons learned/best practices, how university-led economic development initiatives work, and best practices in regards to university-led economic development initiatives.

Salyers speech is being hosted by Penn State Outreach’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development as part of a University-led economic development initiative called PA Prosperity Partnerships.
