'Conversation' held with John Feinstein

University Park, Pa. -- Award-winning author, sportswriter and commentator John Feinstein visited Penn State to participate in a special event conducted by the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, in 105 Forum Building.

A “conversation” with Feinstein was moderated by Malcolm Moran, the Knight Chair in Sports Journalism and Society and director of the Center for Sports Journalism.

In addition, Feinstein’s campus visit included classroom work with students in the College of Communications.

Since 1988, Feinstein has contributed to National Public Radio's “Morning Edition,” providing reports on the NBA Finals, the NFL playoffs, the MLB All-Star Game, the U.S. Open golf championship and Wimbledon. He began writing about politics and sports for The Washington Post in 1977. He left the Post in 1988 and became a special contributor to Sports Illustrated and National Sports Daily. Feinstein returned to the Post as a contributor in 1992.

He has since contributed to Sporting News Radio, America Online, Golf Digest and Golf World. In addition, he has authored seven best-selling books, including “A Season on the Brink: A Year with Bob Knight.”
