Nominations sought for University Libraries Award

University faculty and staff at all Penn State locations are urged to consider nominating a University Libraries faculty, staff, or technical service member for the 2009 University Libraries Award. The award recognizes excellence in service to the University community, in influence on library operations, in achievement in librarianship at Penn State, and in leadership and innovation.

All nominations, supporting statement of eligibility, and supporting letters, must be received by 5 p.m., Friday, April 17. No late materials will be considered, so nominators are encouraged to remind those writing letters of support to meet this deadline. Earlier submissions are appreciated.

To submit a nomination, please visit the University Libraries Award Website at and complete either the online form (preferred method of nominating) with supporting documentation forwarded separately, or the printable form.  Printed forms and accompanying documentation may also be submitted by mail or fax to:

Nominations must include the name, address, and position of the nominee, and the names and addresses of two additional persons who will write and submit a letter in support of the nomination. Additional letters of support are greatly encouraged. Please include a statement supporting your nomination of this individual. Describe how the candidate meets or exceeds the criteria for the award and include specific examples. This statement will serve as the basis by which the committee will make its evaluation. Nominators must notify persons they intend to nominate for this award.
