Nominations for annual Susan Lewis Award being accepted

The Commission for Women is now taking nominations for the annual Susan Lewis Award. The commission will choose the winner who will be notified and invited to the annual spring luncheon on March 24 at Penn State Greater Allegheny. The winner will be presented with a plaque and their accomplishments will be shared with everyone in attendance.

The Susan Lewis Award is given to a woman who has contributed to social and economic development within the community, promoted diversity or women’s issues within the community and/or workplace, and promoted constant professional development.

Please use the following link to complete the nomination form and forward it to Cheryl Sorrentino at xcs2@psu.edu no later than March 6:

Since 1981, the Commission for Women has identified areas of concern for the women employees and students of Penn State. It is a forum for exchanging ideas that can translate into improved practices to support women at Penn State.

Its membership represents every employment category: faculty, exempt and nonexempt staff, technical service and administrative, as well as graduate and undergraduate students. The President appoints the members of the commission as an advisory group to recommend policies and programs to enhance the University's working and learning environments.

Anyone can get involved in the commission's activities as an affiliate member.
