April Lunch-In Focus will address crisis management

Emergency Management and Crisis Communication" will be presented by K.A. Crooks, APR, CPRC, from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 3, in Musser Auditorium of the Safeguard Scientifics Building as the April Lunch-In Focus, presented by the Conference Center at Penn State Great Valley and Cornucopia Catering. This event is free and open to the public, and will feature a buffet lunch, brief presentation, question and answer session, networking and an optional tour of the Penn State Great Valley conference facility.

In his presentation, Crooks will address the common causes of crises, ways organizations head off a crisis and the best methods for communicating during emergencies. Crooks has been featured in the book, "Crisis Communicator," for his outstanding leadership during Florida's 2004 four-hurricane season. Crooks is an operations veteran of both the U.S. Navy's nuclear submarine service and the U.S. Air Force's classified strategic reconnaissance program, and has served in senior management and communication roles for utility, agency, university and non-profit organizations.
