Call for membership nominations for the CLGBTE

University Park, Pa. -- The Commission on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Equity (CLGBTE) is actively seeking membership applications from interested persons at all campuses. Membership is effective on July 1, and is open to administrators, faculty, staff (exempt and nonexempt), technical-service employees and undergraduate and graduate students. Full members are appointed by the President to serve a three-year term, or in the case of students, until graduation. Affiliate members are appointed to serve a one-year renewable term. Self-nominations are welcome.

The CLGBTE was founded in 1991 as an advisory group to the President. The commission works to improve the climate for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) members of the Penn State community through examination of current policies and practices and the initiation and promotion of programs that will result in a more equitable and supportive environment. The vision of the commission is to create a culture of understanding, respect, support, and justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning and allied individuals.
