Glee Club marks 120th anniversary with Blue and White Concert

University Park, Pa. -- This year's edition of the annual Blue and White Concert, scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday, April 25, in Schwab Auditorium, will mark the 120th anniversary of the Penn State Glee Club.

The Glee Club will perform works including Tarantella by Randall Thompson, Cantate Domino by Hans Leo Hassler and An Irish Airman Foresees His Death by Byron Adams as well as Song for the Mira arranged by Stuart Calvert featuring guest soloists Jordan Barrett, baritone, and Anthony Costa, clarinet. The second half of the concert will include a performance by a specially formed Glee Club Alumni Choir of more than 70 members performing favorites such as Ride the Chariot arranged by William Henry Smith and Hail, oh, Hail! composed by Glee Club alum Ray Fortunato, conducted by Bruce Trinkley and Christopher Kiver. The alumni and current members of the Glee Club then will join forces to sing two pieces concluding with Penn State fight songs and the Alma Mater. The Hi-Lo's also will perform.
