Graphic design students to exhibit work in Gallery at Penn College

The Gallery at Penn College, on the third floor of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Madigan Library, will host a student portfolio exhibit April 30-May 7.

Sixteen students will exhibit more than 160 pieces of work they created during their studies toward earning bachelor's degrees in graphic design. The work includes stationery packages, brochures, magazine spreads, advertisements, posters, one-of-a-kind books, corporate-identity programs and graphic design for packaging and the Web.

During their time at Penn College, graphic design students learn creative design through courses in graphic design, type design, computer graphics, interactive media and Web-based graphics, and illustration.

The student exhibit will feature works by Brianna M. Cooney, of Sheppton; Emily M. Black, of Montoursville; Angela V. Charcas, of Williamsport; Bernadette T. Dougherty, of Clarks Summit; Casey C. Gleghorn, of Montoursville; Bradley J. Hawkins, of Mill Creek; Janelle C. Klitsch, of Tamaqua; Tyler L. Luttman, of Cleona; William M. Melvin, of Montoursville; Michael R. Miller, of Manheim; Timothy A. Miller, of Williamsport; Jamie R. Slater, of Butler; Luke R. Stiner, of Frenchville; Nicole A. Vollman, of Cogan Station; Amanda Y. White, of Newport; and Steven E. Zimmerman, of Lebanon.

An opening reception for the exhibit will take place in the gallery from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, and includes a 5:30 p.m. gallery talk.

Gallery hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Friday. All exhibits are free and open to the public.
