Managing stress is the subject of UHS podcast

University Park Pa. – As the semester wraps up, stress levels increase for college students everywhere. The end of this semester coincides with the release of University Health Services’ first podcast dealing with stress and stress management.

This resource offers professional coping advice from Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) counseling staff. Penn State students also share their own unique coping strategies. The stress podcast is the first in a series of interviews that examine student health issues on campus.

“Stress is always with us”, said Mary Anne Knapp, “but if we engage in self care and learn to manage stress, it can make all the difference.”

There are plenty of simple ways stress can be managed during this hectic week. Some helpful tips to reduce stress are taking deep breaths, getting seven to eight hours of sleep each night, eating a balanced nutritious diet and managing your time.
