Hogan named ECAC Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week

University Park, Pa. — Penn State Nittany Lion lacrosse player Chris Hogan (Wyckoff, N.J.) has been named ECAC Lacrosse League Offensive Player of the Week. Hogan, who shares the honor with Loyola's Colin Finnerty, earned Penn State's fifth overall ECAC weekly honor.

Hogan led Penn State to its fifth straight win with a five goal, one assist outburst in the Nittany Lions' 17-6 thrashing of visiting St. Joseph's on Saturday night in front of a season-high 1,242 fans at Jeffrey Field. Three of Hogan's five goals came in a critical first period that saw Penn State jump out to a 4-1 lead and never look back. Hogan now has a team-best 28 goals to go along with four assists for 32 points. Penn State's five game win streak is the team's best since winning seven straight to close out the 2005 regular season.

The Nittany Lions are 8-5 overall, 3-3 in the ECAC, and receiving votes in the latest USILA Coaches Poll. Penn State closes out its regular season at noon on Saturday, May 2, at No. 16 Georgetown.
