Penn State Altoona gears up for third Trash to Treasure sale

May 05, 2009

Penn State Altoona will hold its third Trash to Treasure sale from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 30 in the Adler Gymnasium.

Community members will be able to purchase gently used items including appliances, electronics, athletic equipment, furniture, clothes, books, cleaning supplies, dishes and decorations.
Modeled after Penn State University Park’s award-winning Trash to Treasure program held each spring at Beaver Stadium, proceeds from the sale at Penn State Altoona will benefit the United Way of Blair County's community impact partners. Collecting and selling tons of unwanted items benefits the environment as well by keeping these materials out of landfills.
Volunteers are needed to help prepare for the sale and to help on sale day. To volunteer, contact the United Way of Blair County at (814) 944-0884.
