ITS unveils new administrative information services Web site

University Park, Pa. -- Administrative Information Services (AIS), a unit of Penn State's Information Technology Services (ITS), is pleased to announce that its redesigned Web site, located at http://ais.its.psu.edu/, was launched this month.

According to site developers, critical AIS services such as support, training and departmental information will still be readily available at the new site, but these items have been repackaged with a modern look and many new features.

Improved information architecture, including a logical categorization of AIS Services, consistent content labels from service page to service page, and a site-wide drop-down navigation bar will make it easier for new and experienced users to find specific information, browse multiple services, or become acquainted with new services. The redesigned site also features a service-specific news module on each service page and a robust sidebar on the right side of every page, which provides important news, alerts and events related to AIS, ITS, and the University as a whole.

In addition, the homepage features an accordion-style "widget" (tool kit) for easy navigation and a rotating Feature Spotlight, which will highlight important services, news, and events.

Due to restructuring of the site, some pages have moved to a new location within the overall design. All current Web addresses and bookmarks will automatically redirect to those new pages for 6 months. After that time, some of the pages will no longer redirect, so it will be necessary for users to change all bookmarked pages.

Penn State community members who have any concerns related to the new site, find pages that are not redirecting properly, or want to provide feedback are encouraged to provide input to ais-webmaster@psu.edu. To learn more, please see http://ais.its.psu.edu/.
