Professor receives University-wide adult learner award

Jennifer Parker Talwar, OLEAD program coordinator and associate professor of sociology at Penn State Lehigh Valley, is the recipient of the 2009 Superior Service to Adult Learners Award. The award was announced at the annual Hendrick Best Practices for Adult Learners Conference held on May 18 at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel on the University Park campus.

The purpose of the award is to recognize annually an individual Penn State faculty, staff or student, or a team of individuals who provide exemplary service to adult learners. In addition the recipient must demonstrate that he or she has positively affected adult learners through direct service to students or improved the campus environment for adult learners. Special consideration is given to those who can demonstrate support and leadership of new, innovative programs or services that improve the environment for adult learners.
