Spaces available for some of Penn State's summer sports camps

University Park, Pa. — Spaces remain available for Penn State's summer sports camps, which are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year.

Tennis was offered as the first Penn State sports camp, with 10 participants at the inaugural camp in 1969. Today, more than 20,000 youth annually attend at least one of the 95 sports camps Penn State offers. The camps are open to youth that will be entering grades 4 through 12 this fall.

Summer camps are held on the University Park campus for the vast majority of Penn State's 29 varsity sports and several club sports, utilizing the University's extensive athletic facilities. Each sport has more than one camp session. Penn State will host summer camps for the following sports:

- Baseball
- Boys and Girls Basketball
- Cheerleading
- Dance
- Fencing
- Field hockey
- Figure Skating
- Football
- Golf
- Girls Gymnastics
- Boys and Girls Ice Hockey
- Boys and Girls Lacrosse
- Martial Arts
- Rugby
- Boys and Girls Soccer
- Softball
- Swimming and Diving
- Tennis
- Track and Field/Cross Country
- Boys and Girls Volleyball
- Wrestling

Enrollment is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Those campers who are accepted will receive a letter of acknowledgment and notification of any program changes. Those not admitted will receive refunds. Walk-in registrations on the day the camp opens cannot be guaranteed.
