An article titled "‘Darwin’s Bulldog’ as a Man of Letters: Thomas Henry Huxley and the Crusade for Science in Victorian England," written by Robert Szymczak, associate professor of history at Penn State Beaver, was published in Confluence, volume XIV, number 2, spring 2009. Confluence is a national, interdisciplinary journal published by the Association of Graduate Liberal Studies Programs that reflects the best scholarly and creative work of graduate liberal studies programs. Its broad scope includes scholarly essays and creative work such as short stories, poetry, creative nonfiction, and visual art. Contributors are students, alumni, faculty, and others affiliated with such programs. Confluence is published in conjunction with 26 higher education sponsors, including Dartmouth, Duke, Georgetown, Rice, Stanford and Vanderbilt Universities.
