Paterno interview to be featured Tuesday on 'College Football Live'

University Park, Pa. — Penn State's Joe Paterno will be among the guests this week as ESPN's "College Football Live 50 States Tour" hits Pennsylvania on Tuesday and Friday.

An interview between Paterno and ESPN/ABC's John Saunders is scheduled to air at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 23 during College Football Live on ESPN. The Hall of Fame coach will discuss the impact high school and college football in Pennsylvania has made on the game he has coached for 60 seasons at Penn State, including some of the state's best players and coaches.

Tuesday's episode of College Football Live will re-air on ESPNU at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 23 and from 5:30-10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24.

The "College Football Live 50 States Tour" will focus on Pennsylvania again on Friday, June 26. The tour began June 1 and concludes Aug. 7, four weeks before the season opening weekend.

Penn State has earned one of the nation's Top 10 records since the start of the 2005 season, posting a 40-11 (78.4) mark, good for No. 9 nationally. The Nittany Lions finished No. 8 in the nation last year with an 11-2 record, earning its 22nd Top 10 finish under Paterno.

Entering his 44th season as head coach, the Hall of Fame coach returns 37 letterwinners and 10 starters for the 2009 campaign. The Nittany Lions host Akron on Sept. 5 to open the season.
