Graduate student wins 'best paper' award

A graduate student in the College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) recently won the Graduate Student Best Paper Award at the 4th Asian Conference on Risk Assessment and Management, held at Beijing Normal University of China.

Yan Cao, who will begin her Ph.D. this fall, won the award for her paper, “Toward and Approach to Probabilistic Resilience Analysis of Networked Infrastructure.” Cao received her master’s degree in physics from Penn State and has been working with Will McGill, assistant professor in IST, for about six months. She is also currently working with IST’s Center for Network-Centric Cognition and Information Fusion.
