Penn State Laureate Musician Kim Cook to perform at music festival

Cellist Kim Cook, Penn State's laureate musician, is participating in the 2009 Endless Mountain Music Festival, on Monday, Aug. 3 in Mansfield, Pa. and on Sunday, Aug. 9 in Wellsboro, Pa.

Sonya Gleason, the festival's vice president for marketing and member of its board of directors, said she is excited for Cook's performance.

"We are so very thrilled to have [Cook] join our other illustrious performers. Kim not only brings brilliant talent to the festival but will also, I am certain, enjoy being with the other high-caliber artists in residence this year."

Cook's first performance, a cello recital, will take place at 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 3 in Mansfield, Pa at the Holy Child Church on Main Street. At 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, Cook will appear with the festival symphony under the baton of Maestro Stephen Gunzenhauser in the Methodist Church on Main Street in Wellsboro, Pa.
