First Fridays lecture series returns

Jane E. Brody, award winning personal health columnist for the New York Times, will launch the Department of Humanities First Fridays lecture series at Penn State College of Medicine this year. Due to the Labor Day holiday, the lecture will be held at noon on Friday, Sept. 11, in the hospital auditorium. Brody, who appears frequently on television, radio and in print media, is a beloved columnist, trusted authority on health and bestselling author. Her latest book is an invaluable road map to putting your affairs in order -- or helping your loved ones do the same. Titled, "Jane Brody’s Guide to the Great Beyond: A Practical Primer to Help You and Your Loved Ones Prepare Medically, Legally, and Emotionally for the End of Life," the book can be purchased at the University Bookstore at the College of Medicine at a 20 percent discount.

Following her talk, Brody will be available to sign books. The event is free of charge. For more information, call (717) 531-8778. The First Fridays lecture series is sponsored by The Doctors Kienle Center for Humanistic Medicine and the Department of Humanities.
