Lecture on forensic use of mitochondrial DNA in animal cases, Sept. 14

A free public lecture titled "Mitochrondrial DNA as a Forensic Tool in Animal Cases" will be given on Sept. 14, by Terry Melton, the President and CEO of Mitotyping Technologies, a private laboratory located in State College, Pa., which specializes in performing DNA analyses for law enforcement, attorneys and private individuals.  Melton has been involved several cases, including the investigation of Anna Anderson, who falsely claimed to be the Grand Duchess Anastasia of Russia.

The event is the second of four lectures in the fall Forensic Science Seminar Series. This lecture will begin at 12:10 p.m. in 111 Wartik Laboratory on the Penn State University Park Campus.
