Thousands attend Patio Party

The Center for the Performing Arts (CPA) held its second annual Patio Party for University Park students Sept. 9, on the Eisenhower Auditorium patio. Students attending the event were given an additional 20 percent off their already-discounted event ticket prices for CPA events. In addition to these preorders, students were free to particpate in a number of giveaways and contests aimed at stirring up interest for the center within the student body. More than 2,000 students were estimated to be in attendence throughout the party, which ran from 7 to 9 p.m. and featured free food, activities and prizes. New to this year's event was a Guitar Hero tournament in which students competed against each other via the popular music-emulating video game series.
