Constitution Day panel discussion set for Sept. 17

Penn State Harrisburg will celebrate Constitution Day on Thursday, Sept. 17, with a discussion on “The Constitution and Homeland Security and Defense.” The event is free and open to the public in the Morrison Gallery of the college library beginning at 11:30 a.m. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Panelists for the discussion will include David Witwer, associate professor of history and humanities; Sam Winch, associate professor of humanities and communications; and former National War College faculty member and current adjunct in the Penn State Harrisburg School of Public Affairs Paul Thompson. The discussion will be moderated by Steven Peterson, director of the School of Public Affairs.

The luncheon preceding the panel discussion will feature Constitution-era foods such as shepherd’s pie, Johnny cakes, onion pies, pickled cucumbers and apple tansy.
