Course offerings for adult learners expanded in Hershey

Penn State Harrisburg is expanding its commitment to make higher education more convenient for adult learners residing or working in the Hershey area.

After a successful January kickoff, Penn State Harrisburg is increasing the number of academic offerings at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center for employees of Penn State Hershey, their families, and any adult working in the Hershey area.

The January installment of courses leading to certificates and an associate degree attracted 88 students in the initial semester, prompting the expansion of academic opportunities on site. This fall, students can take advantage of courses which lead to a number of degrees and certificates including an associate degree in nursing for LPNs; a bachelor’s degree in nursing for registered nurses; an associate degree in letters, arts, and sciences; and a series of three certificates in letters, arts, and sciences.

Courses are offered daytime, evenings and weekends with advisers available to meet at the students' convenience. Services available to those enrolled in any of the programs include career services, financial aid and the Learning Center with complementary tutoring.
