The summer 2009 edition of Penn State Medicine is now available as an interactive version at http://pennstatehershey.org/pennstatemedicine online. Using technology from Nxtbook, the interactive version enables visitors to browse the magazine by “turning” virtual pages, and browsing the publication via a table of contents and individual pages. Pages can be bookmarked, printed and shared via e-mail or social networks including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. The ability to save notes on each page provides personalization for individual readers, and a version can be saved to a computer desktop for offline browsing. Other features such as search, zoom and magnify add to the interaction possible for online readers. A mobile user version of this edition is also available.
