Lion Ambassadors schedule historic nighttime lantern tours of campus

During the fall, the Penn State Lion Ambassadors, the student alumni corps of the Penn State Alumni Association, provide historical nighttime tours of the campus by the light of lanterns. Actors portraying characters such as freshman men, an early 20th century headmistress, George Atherton, Old Coaly and Evan Pugh, reenact some of the traditions and nostalgia of Old State. Food and fun are provided for student and community members as they enjoy Old Main at night. The Old Main bell tower will be open as well.

Lantern tours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9. Tours begin at Old Main and guests will meet characters from Penn State's past and present during a stroll through campus by lantern light, finishing with a view of campus and downtown State College from the Old Main bell tower.
