Mark Dyreson, associate professor of kinesiology at University Park, and Bob Trumpbour, associate professor of communications at Penn State Altoona, have edited a book on North American stadium history. The book, titled "The Rise of Stadiums in the Modern United States, Cathedrals of Sport," has been published by Routledge.

Dyreson and Trumpbour each have authored two chapters within the text. A variety of leading historians also have contributed material to the book. Among the contributors is Ronald Smith, professor emeritus of Kinesiology at Penn State.
