Libraries offer patent and trademark seminar

Penn State University Libraries will hold a full-day seminar on "Researching Patent and Trademark Information" from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, in Foster Auditorium (room 101) at Pattee Library on Penn State's University Park campus.

The seminar is free, but registration is required due to limited space. Register online at http://bit.ly/yE6HH or call 814-867-1448.

The seminar will be of interest to inventors, entrepreneurs, educators, students, and legal professionals. Experts from the Patent and Trademark Depository Library Program will discuss:

  • overview of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets;
  • conducting a patent search;
  • invention promotion firms; asking the right questions;
  • conducting a federal trademark search; plus
  • videos on innovation and trademarks.
