Penn State School of Theatre to present 'She Loves Me' Nov. 3-19

The Penn State School of Theatre's University Resident Theatre Company will present "She Loves Me" from Nov. 3 to 19, at the Citizens Bank Theatre in the Penn State Downtown Theatre Center at 146 S. Allen St. in State College, Pa.

Written by Joe Masteroff, with lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and music by Jerry Bock, "She Loves Me" has been called "the most charming musical ever written!" Georg and Amalia are two feuding clerks in a European parfumerie during the 1930s who secretly find solace in their anonymous romantic pen pals. Funny, intelligent, honest and sentimental, "She Loves Me" is a warm romantic comedy with an endearing innocence and a touch of old world elegance.

"She Loves Me" is directed by Amy Anders Corcoran, Penn State third-year master of fine arts candidate in the directing for the musical theatre stage program. In the past she has directed/choreographed productions for Penn State, including "Smokey Joe's Café," "In Trousers," "Little Dog Laughed" and "Company." Amy was this year's recipient of the SDC Noel Coward Fellowship in Comedic Direction.

Ticket prices are $10 for the preview, $14 for an evening showing and $8.50 for Penn State students. They are available at the Penn State Downtown Ticket Center, Eisenhower Box Office, Bryce Jordan Center, or by calling 814-863-0255 or 800-ARTS-TIX.
