Professor of engineering science and mechanics named IEEE fellow

Patrick Lenahan, distinguished professor of engineering science and mechanics, has been elevated to a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

He was cited for his contributions to understanding of radiation damage and reliability of metal-oxide semiconductor devices.

A Penn State faculty member since 1985, Lenahan received his bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Notre Dame and his doctorate in materials science from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.

The IEEE is the world's largest professional association advancing innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity.
