Lisa Yerges named MTBPA Member of the Year

January 08, 2010

As director of business services at Penn State Brandywine, Lisa Yerges always is on the move. Overseeing a major renovation of the campus' Main Building, managing all campus facilities, making sure employees are fairly treated, insured and happy, keeps her busy. However, it is Yerges' dedication to another important job that has earned her quite an honor.

In January 2009, Yerges was elected to serve on the Middletown Township Business and Professional Association (MTBPA) board of directors as vice president. It is as a result of her dedication and hard work over the last year that Yerges was named Member of the Year by Helene Weathers, MTBPA president.

"Over the past year, Lisa has gone above and beyond in serving the board," Weathers said. "Many years ago we started a project of six 'Welcome to Middletown' signs. Each year it seemed to get lost in everyone’s busy lives. In January of this year I asked the board if we should drop the project or move forward. Everyone felt it was a worthwhile project and Lisa stepped up and got the ball rolling. It looks like it will be a reality in 2010 thanks to Lisa’s persistence in working with Middletown Township and PennDOT. I look forward to working with Lisa as vice president next year."
