Donations continue to climb for students' relief efforts for Haiti

February 12, 2010

To date, more than $600 has been collected by Penn State Beaver students through the "For the Love of Haiti" project, which is sponsored by the Penn State Student Government Association (SGA). Student relief efforts for victims of January’s earthquake in Haiti will continue throughout February. All donations will be given to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

Students continue to collect funds at athletic events, in classroom buildings, in the Brodhead Bistro and in campus offices. Anyone making a donation of $5 or more will receive a red wristband imprinted with "For the Love of Haiti" and a red heart sticker.

To make a gift, checks should be made payable to Penn State SGA and mailed to Denise Turyan, Office of Student Affairs, Penn State Beaver, 100 University Drive, Monaca, PA 15061. Turyan can be contacted at or 724-773-3951.

For more information about the project, contact Becky Mulholland, adult and transfer admissions recruiter, or 724-773-3809, or Robin Schreck, student activities and residence life coordinator, or 724-773-3947.
