Certificate programs in business topics announced

Penn State Lehigh Valley's Office of Continuing Education is currently accepting enrollments for three certificate programs:

Supervision Essentials Certificate Program
About: This program is geared toward new and upcoming frontline supervisors who seek to keep their knowledge and skills consistent with, or a step ahead of, the demands of the workplace. It focuses on developing practical skills in key areas related to successfully supervising and leading today's employees.
Dates: April 9, 15, 23, 29, and May 7, 13, 21, 27, 2010
Time: 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Location: Penn State Lehigh Valley Corporate Learning Center, 100 Brodhead Road, Ste. 120, Bethlehem, Pa.
Fee: $2,100/person

Project Management Certificate Program
About: This program consists of four courses that must be taken in sequential order and includes a project that is carried through each course. The courses include: Project Initiation and Planning; Project Scheduling and Integration; Project Costing and Control; and Project Risk and Change Management.
Dates: Two options – choose Tuesdays or Saturdays. For a list of all dates, contact Pam Klass at 610-285-5034.
Time: Tuesdays, 6:30-9:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Location: Penn State Lehigh Valley, 2809 Saucon Valley Rd., Center Valley, Pa.
Fee: $499/course

Functional Manager Certificate Program
About: This program, through a series of experiential workshops, allows participants to explore and practice the key areas of management. After completing the program, participants may be able to apply new knowledge to current industry challenges.
Dates: April 5, 12, 19, 26; May 3, 10, 17, 24; June 7, 14, 21, 28, 2010
Time: 12:30-4:30 p.m.
Location: Penn State Lehigh Valley Corporate Learning Center, 100 Brodhead Road, Ste. 120, Bethlehem, Pa.
Fee: $2,350/person
