Philharmonic plays Carnegie Hall

New York -- The Penn State Philharmonic performed before a large, enthusiastic audience at Carnegie Hall on Wednesday evening, March 24, for the fourth annual Penn State President's Concert. The event, a collaboration among the Penn State School of Music, Penn State Office of the President and Penn State Alumni Association, affords the students the opportunity to experience performing in major concert halls with outstanding acoustics.

"It is really special for our students to have the opportunity to perform at venues such as Heinz Hall, Kennedy Center, Kimmel Center and Carnegie Hall. It communicates to them the great possibilities that lie ahead for them," Penn State President Graham B. Spanier told alumni and friends at a pre-concert reception hosted by the Penn State Alumni Association.
