Men's lacrosse's Gribbin name CAA Rookie of the Week

University Park, Pa. — Penn State Nittany Lion freshman Billy Gribbin (Rockville, Md.) has been named the Colonial Athletic Association's Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for the week ending on March 28. Gribbin's award is Penn State's first in the CAA.

Gribbin earned the Nittany Lions' first weekly honor of the year, after helping Penn State to its first win of the season. The frosh logged three goals and an assist in his team's 13-11 win over St. John's Saturday. On the year Gribbin has scored 15 goals, second-most on the squad, and ranks among the league's Top-10 by averaging 2.86 points per game. Gribbin is second on Penn State (through last night's game against Bucknell) with 22 points off 16 goals and six assists.

Penn State will host No. 9 UMass at noon on Saturday (April 3)  at Jeffrey Field in the team's first foray into CAA conference action.
