April 28 'Senior Sendoff' open to all Penn State seniors

April 23, 2010

Graduation is just around the corner for the class of 2010, and with it comes the eighth annual Penn State Senior Sendoff, to be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, at the Hintz Family Alumni Center. Last year more than 2,000 seniors attended.

Hosted by the Lion Ambassadors and the Penn State Alumni Association, Senior Sendoff will feature free Clem’s BBQ, pizza, hot dogs and hamburgers, live music, games and free T-shirts to the first 500 seniors. Other giveaways include a free class ring from Jostens, tickets to this year’s homecoming game, and three Alumni Association life memberships. Senior Sendoff also will include several guest speakers bidding formal farewells to the graduating class.

The event is free to all graduating seniors, but preregistration is recommended. Preregistration for Senior Sendoff is available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the HUB-Robeson Center and from 1 to 4 p.m. outside of the Corner Room restaurant in State College, Pa., on April 26 and 27. Registration also will be available at the event itself. A Penn State ID is required to register and participate.

Information about the Penn State Alumni Association and the many benefits of membership will be available at the event. Senior Sendoff sponsors include Liberty Mutual, Jostens, Alumni Career Services, Alumni Travel and Education and numerous alumni societies, chapters and interest groups affiliated with the Alumni Association.
