Students to display capstone design projects at showcase

Penn State engineering students will present their capstone design projects at the College of Engineering's Student Design Project Showcase from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on April 29, in the main floor of the Bryce Jordan Center.

The showcase will feature industry-sponsored projects from seniors in agriculture, bioengineering, energy engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, and mechanical engineering. The event is free and open to the public.

This semester's senior project sponsors include Shell, Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, Harris Corp., Boeing and Flowserve.

The event also will feature student projects from EDSGN 100 courses, junior-level bioengineering design courses, the humanitarian engineering and social entrepreneurship program and the master's in manufacturing management program.

The showcase was organized by the Learning Factory, a university-industry partnership at Penn State that helps educate the next generation of engineers using the state-of-the-art facilities for design, prototyping and fabrication.
