April 29, 2010

It’s a fact: social media has caused a paramount shift in the way people communicate today. To help businesses take advantage of the enormous reach of these social networks, Penn State Great Valley will host two workshops from 8 a.m. to noon: “Social Media 101” on Thursday, May 20, and “Advanced Social Media” on Thursday, June 3.

These hands-on workshops will be taught by Nicole Newman, president and CEO of Newman Networks, whose social networks boast over 4,800 Facebook friends and 110 LinkedIn connections. The workshops will focus on how to effectively use social media to build a network and convert it into long-term customers. The cost is $125 per workshop or both for $200.
