University Park, Pa. -- The College of Arts and Architecture recently honored two staff members with the Staff Award for Outstanding Service. Connie Gensimore, finance director at the Center for the Performing Arts, and Lisa Stamm, administrative support assistant in the School of Music, were recognized for their exceptional job performances that best exemplify professionalism and dedication to the mission of the college and the University.

Stamm serves as an administrative support assistant in the School of Music, a position she has held since 1989. She manages all administrative aspects of the graduate and music education programs. She has also recently been involved in the development of a non-degree, post-graduate Professional Performance Certificate program. Meticulous about deadlines and information that is important to the smooth operations of the music education and graduate programs, Stamm has been consistently focused on customer service. "I am honored to be one of the recipients of this year's award," said Stamm.

Gensimore has worked for Penn State since 1974, and joined the Center for the Performing Arts (CPA) in 1993. In her current position as finance director, she is responsible for financial management, budget administration, ticket pricing, financial projections and oversight of projected revenue. A member of the Major University Presenters Financial Directors, Gensimore collects, organizes and analyzes yearly financial data from 20 university-based performing arts centers and conducts presentations based on the financial data. In addition, as the human relations liaison for CPA, Gensimore has completed numerous projects, including creating an online staff handbook, implementing and analyzing a staff climate survey and developing desktop job descriptions. Gensimore said it is a great honor to receive recognition for her professional efforts. "I have been working at Penn State and the Center for the Performing Arts for a long time," she said. "So to receive this award by the College of Arts and Architecture is very exciting for me."
